Marc Wayne Urquhart, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Marc Wayne Urquhart hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon graduating from Nicolet High School as the Louis Menze Student Athlete Scholar, he attended Iowa State University as a George Washington Carver Scholar. There he earned a full 4-year tuition with room, board, and an academic scholarship. Dr. Urquhart walked-on the Cyclone varsity basketball team as a freshman and participated all 4 years serving as co-captain his senior year. He holds the distinction of the first recorded triple double in ISU basketball history. He also received Academic All Big 8 Conference honors. Upon graduating ISU with honors, he attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with Scott Postgraduate Scholarships from the Big 8 Conference and the NCAA. While at Johns Hopkins medical school he received the Henry Strong Denison Research award and was rewarded with an orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Johns Hopkins. During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Marc was fortunate to meet his wife and future practice partner. After completing his chief residency at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Urquhart earned a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He then completed a sports and shoulder fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh where he worked with the University of Pittsburgh sports programs, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins team physicians and training staffs.

In his 20+ years of practice he has served as chief of orthopedics at 2 New Jersey hospitals. Having been a student athlete, Dr. Urquhart is passionate about implementing cutting-edge technology in returning and restoring athletes to their competitive environment to achieve their athletic aspirations. Dr. Urquhart is grateful for his many mentors and role models for the priceless role they have played in his career achievements.
